Anders, Mildred Virginia [Baker]
information:Mildred Virginia Anders, 89, of Taneytown, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at St. Catherine's Nursing Center in Emmitsburg.
Born April 15, 1916, in Taneytown, she was a daughter of the late William Albert and Mary Margaret Curfman Baker. She was the wife of Charles Alfred Anders, her husband of 69 years, who died in 1997.
She had worked as a seamstress for many years.
She was a lifelong member of Grace United Church of Christ in Taneytown, where she belonged to the Helping Hands Sunday School Class for many years.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Elaine and Richard L. Hoover Sr. of Frederick; granddaughter Kimberly True of Libertytown; great-grandchildren Isaac and Victoria True; step-great-grandchildren Samantha and Spenser Hoover; sister-in-law Thelma Baker of Taneytown; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters Ethel Belle Baker Garber, Margaret Elizabeth Baker Ohler and Sarah Catherine Baker Clingan; and by brother Charles Donald Baker.
She was the last of her immediate family.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with her pastor, the Rev. Steven M. Ostendorf-Snell, officiating.
Interment will be in Grace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Taneytown.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Skiles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD 21787; or to Carroll Hospice, 95 Carroll St., Westminster, MD 21157.
