Searching for parents/siblings of Francis Asbury Sharrer b.Feb. 14, 1823 d. Nov. 16, 1900 in MD. Married Ann Eliza Oursler Apr. 1, 1845 in Westminster. Know he came to Westminster from Taneytown in 1844. Was a carpenter/funeral director. After Ann's death, he married Margaret Yingling Jan. 3, 1865.
I have been trying to find his ancestors for many years. At this point, even ruling out some Sharrer's I've found may be helpful. Ludwick Sharrer lived in Taneytown as did Tobias Sharrer in 1790? 1820 Census lists Andrew, Jacob, William, John in Frederick County? 1830 Jacob & William show up again in Frederick County? One Jacob Sharrer married Ruth Carr in MD in 1813...could be his parents as one of his sons was named Jesse Carr Sharrer...that seems pretty logical but need more proof.
